CAPITAL OFFENCES

Under the law, there are some offences which are considered so serious that the punishment for these offences is usually Death. Such offences in Uganda are called Capital offenses and include;

  1. Murder
  2. Rape
  3. Aggravated defilement
  4. Robbery
  5. Kidnapping with intent to murder.
  6. Terrorism
  7. Treason.

One other thing you should know about such offences is that they can only be tried by the High Court.
