Garnishee is a third party, for instance a bank or even an employer, who is given an order by court, to carry the burden of making payments to a stated individual or company who is meant to be paid by the garnishee’s client, employee or creditor because of a garnishee order. To put a specific illustration of how this operation let take an example of where Mark is supposed to be paying back Mary’s money but is always dodging-dodging her, yet it’s her money. Mary can get a court order also referred to as a garnishee order which can be served to either Mark’s employer or bank who will then seize Mark’s accounts or salary, in case of an employer, and pay whatever is due to Mary.
