BarefootLaw becomes a Commonwealth Accredited Organisation- Expanding Legal Access for All
[Kampala, 20th July 2023] BarefootLaw is proud to announce our affiliation with the Commonwealth, an intergovernmental organisation of 56 countries with the shared values of promoting democracy, rule of law, human rights, and inclusive development among its member countries. The Commonwealth Secretariat announced this on Thursday, 20th July, via their Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in BarefootLaw’s mission to enhance access to justice and legal information for underserved populations.
As an organisation rooted in empowering individuals and communities through legal education and assistance, BarefootLaw is dedicated to bridging the justice gap and ensuring equal access to legal services for all. By joining the Commonwealth as an Accredited Organisation, BarefootLaw gains a platform to collaborate with over eighty (80) like-minded organisations, governments, and institutions worldwide, amplifying its impact and reach across the 2.6 billion peoples of The Commonwealth.
This affiliation will enable BarefootLaw to share best practices, knowledge, and resources with other members, fostering a global network of legal empowerment advocates. This partnership will enhance BarefootLaw’s capacity to influence policy, strengthen legal frameworks, and support initiatives that promote social justice and human rights within the Commonwealth.
Additionally, BarefootLaw will actively engage in Commonwealth programs and initiatives focused on legal aid, access to justice, and the rule of law. By participating in these efforts, BarefootLaw aims to contribute its expertise and experience in providing innovative legal solutions through technology, community outreach, and education.
