The past year, which we called BarefootLaw 3.0, marked a period of accountability and enhancement. We began the year with an overhaul of our internal systems and operations. Driven by the spirit of accountability, BarefootLaw underwent a series of process improvements that were individually small in nature but that collectively amounted to sweeping changes in the efficiency and the quality of our services.
This report captures the eventful year we have had. It saw us launch our AI lawyer, Winnie; move into our new office premises; reach tens of thousands of women in communities across Uganda with legal support through the LEWUTI Project; support local leaders in Jinja district through the Nodes Project; launch of our CyberLaws report; participate in high-level dialogues on digital access to the law in Uganda, Kenya, and internationally; welcome new board members, partners and funders; and, now, though battle-scared, thrive through the COVID-19 pandemic.
